Happiness Starts with Where You are
I have written a good bit on here about happiness and positivity and about how it comes from, for instance, practicing forgiveness And having hope and faith in your dreams. However, I have learned that first and foremost, true inner peace starts with where you are.
The truth is that in life we go through periods of joy, worry, anger, enlightenment, pain, ect. To be truly happy is to be mindful and at peace with where and how you are at the current moment. Start with how you are feeling inside, now. Pay attention to your surroundings, the colors and sensations around you. Be at peace with where you are and how you are now.
So many time we have thoughts such as, “As soon as I get that degree I’ll be happy” or “As soon as I get that new job I’ll be happy”. But the problem with this kind of thinking is that it never ends. You always continue to desire for something, and you always want more.
So what about being happy with what you have now? What about being accepting of where you are now, currently? Because you may never have every single thing you desire in life.
So start with now. This current moment is precious, because it is irreplaceable. And you, you are irreplaceable.
So to be happy, appreciate all you have, yourself, and everything you are grateful for. Appreciate the current moment. Appreciate now.
