Barbie-Inspired Outfit
As someone who’s been a girly girl their entire life, I absolutely loved the Barbie movie. I thought Margo Robbie’s acting was incredible, and I loved Barbie World, Barbie’s house, and Barbie’s outfits. With the Barbie movie making over a billion at the box office, Barbie’s iconic pink and girly style is trending in fashion. I am in love with the Barbie Core look. I put together my own Barbie Core-inspired outfit with an adorable pink polka-dotted dress from Draper James.
The Bonnie Midi Dress in Polka Dots is so classic and pretty, and so Barbie! It is a girly and pink, perfect Southern-style sundress for brunch with the girls, or a boat party! It’s quite versatile, and totally something I could see Margot Robbie wear in the Barbie movie. I paired it with the cutest Barbie x Kitsch Hair Clip, which has “Barbie” written on it in pink rhinestone letters. It goes perfectly with the bright pink dress. The look is just right for any die-hard Barbie fan.
I think the Barbie movie promotes an inspiring message for women and girls. While I consider myself a “feminist” in some ways, however other ways not, my platform is all about women’s empowerment. I believe us women lifting each other up is paramount. Femininity is about sisterhood, and I believe the sisterhood is crucial to womanhood. I think Barbie is a fantastic girls’ movie, and I also thought it was funny at times! Ken’s character made me laugh, and I loved America’s Ferrara’s character as well. I saw it twice, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love that the Barbie movie truly brought back the iconic Barbie look. However in my book, it never left! This look is one of my favorites. I love this Draper James dress, and I could dress up like Barbie every day!
